No hot water: electric storage HWS
- Customer report
- No hot water since yesterday. The breaker for the hot water in the switchboard is on.
- Circuit
- Single-phase 3.6 kW (240 V rated) electric storage hot water system on its own circuit, with a local isolator. The thermostat and over-temperature cutout switch the active to the element. The water is cold, so the thermostat should be calling for heat.

Safety actions
Live tests are done energised with insulated probes and the right PPE. Dead tests need the circuit isolated, locked, tagged and proved dead.
